What does Zo Kwe Zo mean?

What does zo kwe zo mean? In the Central African language of Sango zo kwe zo literally translates to “people all people.” The true meaning of this is that all people, regardless of color, background, age, nationality, culture, gender, or ethnicity are the people. Just as Thomas Jefferson said, “all men are created equal” zo kwe zo reminds us that in spite of any surface level differences we all have the same feelings and desires. To love and the desire to be loved is a universal human experience that transcends time, borders, and culture. In my family’s time in Central Africa we were able to experience this beautiful philosophy first hand. To become a part of a community so different from which we came is an experience that has changed our lives forever.  This experience is the inspiration for my work and zo kwe zo reminds me of the way I want to live my life.

Welcome

Welcome to the Zo Kwe Zo Photography Blog!

Here I will post images from recent weddings, general musings, information about me, and general happenings. I hope that you enjoy this blog and will come by often. I have recently returned to the United States after a stint in the Central African Republic. My family and I have relocated from Indiana to Euless Texas and I am restarting my wedding photography business. I thoroughly enjoy photographing weddings and I am very excited about getting going in this new community after experiencing a complete change of pace living in Africa. So stay tuned!
